DANGEROUS PEOPLE YOU SHOULD AVOID
DANGEROUS PEOPLE YOU SHOULD AVOID
THE ARROGANT
Arrogance is false confidence, Arrogant people tend to be lower performers, more disagreeable, and have more cognitive problems than the average person.
1 Samuel 2:3 says Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. Romans 12:3 says For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. Proverbs 8:13 says The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. And Luke 18:9-14 says He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ .
THE ENVIOUS
To the envious, the grass is always greener somewhere else. Even when something great happens to envious people, they don’t derive any satisfaction from it. This is because they measure their fortune against the world’s when they should be deriving their satisfaction from within. Spending too much time around envious people is dangerous because they teach you to trivialize your own accomplishments. Exodus 20:17 says “Do not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, his male or female slave, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
GOSSIPERS
“Great minds discuss ideas, average ones discuss events, and small minds discuss people. Gossipers derive pleasure from other people’s misfortunes. There are too much to learn from interesting people to waste your time talking about the misfortune of others.
1 Timothy 5:13 says At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention. 2 Timothy 2:16 says But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness, Ecclesiastes 7:21 says Also, do not take seriously all words which are spoken, so that you will not hear your servant cursing you. Proverbs 26:20 says For lack of wood the fire goes out, And where there is no whisperer, contention quiets down. And Proverbs 11:13 says He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, But he who is trustworthy conceals a matter.
THE JUDGMENTAL
Judgmental people are quick to tell you exactly what is and isn’t. Instead of appreciating and learning from people who are different from them, judgmental people look down on others.
Romans 2: 1-3 says "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Romans 14: 4 says Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand." Romans 14: 10 says "You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister ? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat." Romans 14: 13 says "Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister." Matthew 7: 1- 2 says "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Romans 2:1-3 says "Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?"
THE MANIPULATOR
Manipulators suck time and energy out of you. Manipulators always want something from you, and if you look back on your relationships with them, it’s all take, take, take, with little or no giving. They’ll do anything to win you over just so they can work you over.
Matthew 24:4 says And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Arrogant, Envious, Gossipers, Judgmental and Manipulator are harmful people, they drive you crazy because their behavior is so unreasonable. Make no mistake about it, their behavior truly goes against God's word, so why do you allow yourself to respond to them.
